The Pigs' New Yard
We have been raising these 8 little pigs for over two months now, and they are growing so fast! It was time to move them into a new area - farther away from our neighbors’ yard, and also in a place where they could dig up a large area for us to cultivate as our next garden.
It turned out to be a huge hassle to move them across our big back yard! Ryan set up a great new yard, with electric fencing, an A-frame shelter, and a newly-built food trough. However, letting them out and coaxing them to run in the right direction did NOT work well!
Ryan and Selah ended up building an electric fence corridor to lead them from their old yard to the new yard! Once they were in the new area, they found out that it was absolutely wonderful. Our German Shepherd dog, Mina, helped them make some fabulous mud wallows. Now, they are digging up the grass, and just looking like happy and healthy pigs!
