Whole Hog: Order now!
Order your whole hog or half hog for pickup in April
The weather is cold, our hogs are fattening, and we have a date at the butcher shop.
If you love pasture-fed, locally-raised meat, this is your chance to get some of the best pork you’ll find all year. We’ll be butchering our hogs at the end of March, and the meat will be ready for pickup in early April.
To make sure there’s enough for you, we encourage you to pre-order now and put in your deposit. We have two options: whole hog or half hog.
If you order a half hog, this is what you’ll get (this is an estimate, exact amounts may vary):
15 lbs pork chops (1” thick slices, 2 chops per package)
3 lbs spare ribs
10 pounds ground (or you may order more sausage)
4 pounds sausage (specify pan sausage patties or links)
14 pounds fresh ham cured & smoked
7 pounds bacon cured only
7 pounds roast
This will be around 60 pounds of meat. The final price will depend on the actual weight, but figure it’ll be around $500-$525 depending. Let us know if you would like to customize your cuts or order more or less of each item.
When you just can’t get enough bacon and ham, you need to go in whole hog. With the whole hog you’ll get (more or less):
30 lbs pork chops (1” thick slices, 2 chops per package)
6 lbs spare ribs
20 pounds ground (or you may order more sausage)
8 pounds sausage (specify pan sausage patties or links)
28 pounds fresh ham cured & smoked
14 pounds bacon cured only
14 pounds roast
Once again, the final price will depend on the actual weight. It should be in the neighborhood of 120 pounds of meat, and the cost will be around $1045. Let us know if you would like to customize your cuts or order more or less of each cut.
Only our friends who preorder will be able to buy the whole or half hog. This is because we have to put in our order for the butcher before we drop off the hogs.
If you’re not ready to plunk down and fill your freezer, you can still buy meat by the pound; just come by the farm and we’ll set you up.
Ready to fill up that freezer? We’ll just need a deposit to secure your hog: $100 for the half and $200 for the whole hog.
